📣 A reminder to secure your doors and windows after burglaries reported in Gainsborough📣

We are investigating two burglaries that happened overnight between Saturday 18 July and Sunday 19 July. One of the burglaries happened in Arkwright Street and the second on Hotspur Road. Gainsborough.

We’re asking anyone who lives in the area of either road if they may have seen anyone suspicious. We’d also appeal to anyone to check any doorbell or other recorded footage they may have to see if anything relevant may have been captured. Anyone who does have any information they think may help is asked to contact the Investigating Officer by emailing Samantha.leaning@lincs.police.uk

🔑 Protect your home
Lock doors and windows, even when you're at home or enjoying the garden
Close and secure downstairs windows at night or when leaving a room
Use window restrictors rather than leaving windows fully open

🔐 Don’t forget the garden
Lock sheds, garages and outbuildings
Store tools, ladders and equipment securely – they can be used to gain entry
Keep gates closed and locked where possible

💡 Make your home look occupied
Use timer switches for lights when you're out or away
Ask a neighbour to collect post or move bins
Wait until you return home before posting holiday updates on social media

🏎️ Keep vehicles secure
Lock your vehicle and double-check it's secure
Remove valuables and keep keys out of sight, away from doors and windows
Park in well-lit areas or use a garage if available

👀 Look out for your community and vulnerable neighbours
Keep an eye on neighbours' properties especially if they're away.
